CampActive After School Club
CampActive after school club
CampActive went live just over 5 years ago as a result of Sam Askey’s desire to encourage our children to be more active, reducing the time spent on computers, TV and games consoles. It encourages team building, physical activity, wellbeing and above all else, it’s fun!

Varied, interest led activities - every day
CampActive has proved to be extremely popular during the school holidays and as a result we have worked closely with St John’s infants and juniors to be able to offer this service on a daily basis.
Government guidelines state that all children should access at least 60 minutes of exercise every day to maintain a basic level of health. At Child’s Play we feel very strongly about this and want to support all our children in achieving this goal.
CampActive offers fun and interest-based sessions which do not consist of just a single sport. It includes many different games and multiskilled activities with a huge emphasis on team building.
Alongside the physical activities, we run the usual arts and crafts activities that children currently enjoy and if they just want to wind down after school, a quiet area is also available.

CampActive runs from the St John’s INFANTS site during the term time. It starts at 3.15pm and finishes promptly at 5.20pm. If you can not collect your child by 5.20pm from the school, then you will be able to collect them from 5.45pm at Child’s Play. This 15-minute period allows us to get the remaining children back to nursery.
Children will be provided with healthy snacks from 3.15pm in the hall.
All other schools, including Springvale, Millhouse, Oxspring and Thurlstone take part in the CampActive sessions as they are collected from their schools at 3.15/ 3.30pm and dropped off at St John’s.
