Hi, we’re Child's Play Day Nursery!

Our family-run business opened its doors in 1994 with the ethos 'Where learning is fun.' By staying true to our core values, we have become the childcare provider of choice in the Penistone area and beyond.

We are incredibly proud of our beautiful countryside location, and no matter the weather, we encourage our children to embrace the outdoors every day.

Rain, sun, or snow—after over 30 years in Penistone, we know exactly what to expect from Mother Nature. Whether it’s walking, visiting the farm animals, or running through muddy puddles on the lane, we believe there’s no such thing as bad weather, only bad clothing.

Our nursery is designed to engage your child from the moment they walk through the door. Each room is thoughtfully arranged around their individual interests and filled with a variety of curiosity-inspiring items, carefully chosen to spark their imagination and engage their creativity

Qualified, Friendly Team

All our practitioners are highly experienced, with every team member holding at least a Level 3 qualification in childcare and education. Among our staff, we also have qualified teachers dedicated to nurturing, caring for, and inspiring every child. We take pride in building strong relationships with our families, which gives us the best understanding of how to support and care for all our children.

Healthy & Nutritious Meals

We cater to all children’s individual needs, including specific dietary requirements and allergens, from vegan to dairy-free and beyond. All of our meals are freshly prepared on-site with care. Providing children with choices about their food is central to our values, and independent mealtimes are a key part of this approach. By involving them in the preparation of snacks and meals, we help them gain a deeper understanding of their food, its nutritional value, and where it comes from.

Here at Child’s Play, we regularly run extra-curricular activities and events. From messy play to concerts and sports classes, there’s lots going on to keep your kids busy and engaged.
